What do an intelligent school bag, a McMug Kinect video game and a sci fi chamber have in common? They are all part of this year's exhibits at InnoTech Month, an event that HKFYG has supported for a decade and which showcases how technology affects daily life.
With the opening of the annual InnoCarnival last week, and InnoTech Month throughout November, the Innovation and Technology Commission is giving Hong Kong people of all ages a glimpse of the wonders of technological innovation. Hundreds of spectacular games and shows are on offer, including the new InnoFiesta and 8k Innothon run. The carnival is at Hong Kong Science Park till the coming weekend. Why not pay a visit, play with the latest technology and of course, see how creative Hong Kong's young people really are!

Recycling till 7 November with the Re:MAKE A WISH: X'mas Baubles Project: join the effort for seriously ill children
Loads of plastic bottles are being collected at HKFYG. It's all in aid of RE: MAKE A WISH: the X'mas Baubles Project. The bottles will be upcycled, decorated by artists, then reborn as baubles for your Christmas tree! All proceeds from sales will go to Make-A-Wish®Hong Kong to make the wishes of seriously ill children come true. Want to join in? HKFYG Luncheon Seminar on Youth Issues: the young working poor
On 18 November from 12-2pm, guest speakers, Prof Lui Tai-lok, Chair Professor of Hong Kong Studies, Department of Asian & Policy Studies, Hong Kong Institute of Education, and Mr Shih Wing-ching, JP, Founder of Centaline Group and AM730, will speak about the young working poor. The venue is the HKFYG Building. Education practitioners, youth workers, young entrepreneurs and other interested parties can register at yrc.hkfyg.org.hk. Fee: HK$100. Registration now open for HKFYG youth basketball tournament partnered by All Star Basketball Academy
The Second HKFYG Cup: 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament partnered by the All Star Basketball Academy, began with 176 teams from HKFYG Youth SPOTs on 2 November. Youth teams of under 18s are welcome to register until 24 November. The Grand Final is at Kowloon Bay Sports Centre on 24 December. Awards will be presented by Ruthie Bolton, former American Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) player who will also teach basketball skills. Talks by experts on JUPAS choice and examination skills for students
On 15 November, talks for students, co-organized with the Hong Kong Community College, will cover university applications and career planning. Representatives from the University Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Institute of Education will give expert guidance on JUPAS choice.
